Lake Blue Ridge is a beautiful body of water in a very picturesque setting. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) owns the water, the U.S. Forest Service owns most of the shoreline, and activities on the water are regulated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). However, these organizations lack the budget for managing their own responsibilities, and cannot look at the “big picture” of how these variables interact.
The Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association (LBRCA) wants to take the role of making sure that the lake stays in the healthy condition that it is in today for the enjoyment of generations to come. If we don’t develop the vision of what we want the lake to be, it may become something we don’t want it to be!
