The hike will take around 90 minutes and has an elevation gain of 500 feet. \nAfter the guided hike\, you’ll get a behind the scenes look at chimpanzees living in sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains! This is a unique opportunity to see some of the chimpanzees and learn about their unique life in sanctuary. Because we aren’t a zoo\, you’ll see the chimps in a relaxed\, peaceful setting\, unlike anything you’ve experienced before. The chimps have access to a 6-acre forest and\, while chimp sightings are never guaranteed\, they usually like to see who has come to visit! The sanctuary tour lasts about one hour. DESCRIPTION:The day begins with a breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for all veterans at St. Anthony Catholic Church on East Main Street in Blue Ridge.  The annual Veterans Day parade will follow at 11 a.m. It begins from the corner of East Main and Church streets in Blue Ridge and continues along East Main through downtown to East First Street\, then to Veterans Memorial Park on Old Highway 76\, across from Fannin County Middle School. Parade will include the Fannin County High School band\, members of the military\, antique and emergency vehicles and representatives from several veterans organizations.
