Stay a while to visit with folks and to enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social provided by our local Dairy Queen. \nMonday\, Good Samaritan hosts their 42nd Annual Labor Day Bar-B-Que served with local Blue Grass and Gospel Music. Just follow the smoke or follow the signs to find the park and ticket booths. Meals are served from 11:30 to 6:00…unless we run out of food. Weekend guests and cabin folks checking out can enjoy music and barbecue and even shop downtown before heading home. \nYour BBQ plate comes with all the fixins\, a bottled drink and a locally grown apple from Merciers Orchard (located just up Highway 5). SUMMARY:Veterans Day Parade and Memorial Service
DESCRIPTION:The day begins with a breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for all veterans at St. Anthony Catholic Church on East Main Street in Blue Ridge.  The annual Veterans Day parade will follow at 11 a.m. It begins from the corner of East Main and Church streets in Blue Ridge and continues along East Main through downtown to East First Street\, then to Veterans Memorial Park on Old Highway 76\, across from Fannin County Middle School. Parade will include the Fannin County High School band\, members of the military\, antique and emergency vehicles and representatives from several veterans organizations.
