Members from the Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association were excited to participate in this year’s Little Pink Houses of Hope Retreat Week in Blue Ridge on Wednesday, June 22nd. Five families from around the country spent a fun-filled afternoon on the lake enjoying the scenery, tubing, floating, swimming and enjoying lunch. Little Pink Houses of Hope hosts annual week-long retreats for cancer patients and their families and have selected Blue Ridge for several years in a row as a place to come relax, spend time together as a family, and de-stress from doctor’s visits and hectic treatment schedules. We especially thank LBRCA members Dan Myers, Dick and Sheila Evelyn, Laurey Nixon and Kim Deutsch for volunteering their boats and time for this year’s event.
Little Pink Houses of Hope organization was started BY a breast cancer survivor FOR breast cancer patients, survivors and their families. Little Pink organizes retreats for families to offer a much-needed respite from busy medical schedules and health worries and provides a supportive and hopeful environment with time for families to spend together. The Lake Blue Ridge Civic Association is partners with Little Pink for their family retreat here in Blue Ridge by hosting an afternoon on the lake with boating, tubing, lunch, and general fun and relaxation.
